How was your first 30 days?

Hello all of our new ETA hires, as we sit down for our "New Hire Lunch with the President"  I wanted to hear how your on-boarding experiences were?  What did we do right, what can we do better?  I hope you are feeling Welcomed.

  1. What a whirlwind! My first week has been amazing. I was warmly welcomed, immediately felt included, and the overall atmosphere is positive and exciting. While my brain feels pretty full from all I've learned, I'm also incredibly motivated to get started.
I would like to see more product and process training. My biggest challenge will be learning about our products, as well as learning who to go to for the various information I need to gather.
Overall, an awesome on-boarding experience. Thank you to everyone - I'm so excited to be a part of the team!

  2. How would I describe my on-boarding experience? In five words…the fast and the furious. In all seriousness the team really took an all hands on deck approach to getting me up to speed as quickly as possible. I have never joined an organization where I had so many people literally say to me that they were vested in my success. It is very motivating and a bit daunting – perhaps because we are moving so fast. I didn’t expect to get a lesson out of the gate but ETA has reminded me of the value of getting into the messy, dirty, nitty gritty without the fear of being wrong. I trust my teammates to help guide, correct, enlighten and inspire me…and I hope I can return the favor with what I bring to the table.

Start: A more formal training on systems and a general directory/org chart so new hires know where/how to get data/files and who to go to for what

Stop: Using “that’s the way we always do it” as a business case – don’t be afraid to rock the boat and speak-up because the only bad idea is the one never said

Continue: The warm welcome and get-to-know yous – it is really great to feel like you are joining the ETA family (indicative of the culture)

  3. We love candid feedback from our new hires! It's the best learning we get in how to make the on-boarding of new co-workers the best. A work in progress...thank you for sharing!
